Smart Wagers Review – Dumb Move?

In this Smart Wagers review I’ll be taking a look at this tipping service on the Betfan platform. This service has posted reasonable results since it was launched in March 2018 and I’ll be finding out if following them would be a smart move.

What is Smart Wagers?

The website for this service promises ‘incredible bets that can make YOU a serious second income working just minutes a day’. In case you were wondering, the ‘YOU’ is not only capitalised but in bright red. I mention this not because it affects the results of this service but it does influence the expectations of their followers.

Smart Wagers Review

On first look, this seems like an OK tipping system but nothing special, so I took a closer look to see if there was anything here that lived up to the hypey website.

How does Smart Wagers Work?

First of all, this service won’t be tipping one big winner after another. The tips here are nearly always each way bets with average odds around 10. This does seem smart and sensible and has worked well for other tipsters.

You’ll get just one or two of these bets most days, none on others and very occasionally three or four. Not sticking to a strict criteria and simply tipping as many horses as you think will win is also very sensible. Stakes are 3, 4 or 5 points which given the number of bets each day is again, a smart and sensible way to go about things.

As the tips have quite high prices you probably won’t want to waste any time getting these on.

How long does Smart Wagers take to set up?

If you’re already a BetFan member you can get started with this in a couple of minutes but if you’re new to the site you’ll have to register first. After that, it’s just a case of paying your money and waiting for your first tips to arrive.

You’ll also need to familiarise yourself with Oddschecker if you haven’t already, or better still install the app on your phone. This also goes for any bookmakers you have accounts with. Once you’ve done this you should be good to go.

How long does it take to use Smart Wagers?

If you’ve got everything set up on your phone, it will make it quicker and more convenient to get this done. Placing a few bets each day isn’t going to take you long, but as you’ll need to get these on as soon as you can, it’s common sense to make it as easy as possible.

Betfair would certainly be an option for this though you would still have to go for the advertised prices. You certainly wouldn’t make anywhere near the advised profits at BSP and you’d lose any BOG benefits that you’d get from a bookmaker.

Smart Wagers Review Results

In 22 months this service has generated 818pt in profit, an average of just over 37pts each month. Of course, it’s not exactly that each month as like all services it has its ups and downs. At £10/pt this will give you £370 before fees each month.

Recent results mirror this and although 2019 was a bit dire until August, this service has had a better year than many others. So far, this service seems well put together and yes, quite smart.

How much does Smart Wagers cost?

Here’s where it gets daft though. With fess of £19 for a week, £57 for 28 days, £160 for a month and £271 for six months all of the smart just went out of the window. Yes, a profit of over £300 a month after fees is good, but other services offer similar or better results for much lower fees.

I can see now why the website is as upfront as it is. You’d need a strong message to get prices like these but with a website like that people are going to expect better results.

The 100pt bank will occasionally be dented by a losing run. 10 or so in a row is not uncommon but big losing months are very rare.

Smart Wagers Review Advantages

The service itself is very smart. It’s uncomplicated and will only take a few minutes a day. Like other EW higher odds services, it keeps the losses small with the number of place results, then cashes in when it gets a 1st.

This means the results overall are very good. So, with all of these boxes ticked – why do I think most followers are going to end up disappointed?

Smart Wagers Review Disadvantages

The website is over the top. £300 a month after fees is a perfectly reasonable return for a tipping service, but a serious second it is not. If you’d have joined this service on the strength of what you’ve read on the website and gotten these results, you’d be gutted.

The fees are much higher than they should be for a service like this. Yes, you can make a second income in just a few minutes each day – but that’s true of at least 100 other tipping services, most of which charge a less.

Smart Wagers Review Conclusion and Overall Rating

Overall, it’s a case of Smart Wagers, Daft Prices, Dumb Website.

This is a perfectly good tipping service spoiled by an over the top website and overpriced fees. Make no mistake, you’ll make money with this service, but not as much as the website might imply.

If you can stomach the prices and lower your expectations, then you should add this to your portfolio.
