Racefan Review – A formula for success?

In this Racefan Review, I’ll be taking a look at this simple ‘formula’ on the Betfan platform that has been running since July 2017. The website is full of big promises and I’ll be seeing if this lives up to those or if it’s all just marketing hype.

What is Racefan?

A lot of tipping services make money. In fact, more of them make money than their followers will tell you. However, very few will tell you that in the way the website for this service does.

Racefan Review

It’s a big claim and one that is very hard to live up to. Followers tend to up their expectations to the a level that the service can never live up to – and then the followers leave in droves even though they’ve made money.

So, I started this review wondering if the Racefan ‘formula’ could be the exception to the rule.

How does Racefan Work?

For a start, I was expecting more than 1 tip a day on average. You’ll get just that one bet most days, two or none on others. There’s nothing special about the bets either, they’re just simple win singles or each way bets. You’ll be placing 5 pts a time on a win and 5pts total on the EWs.

The tips for the EWs are at reasonable prices, usually between 9 and 12. The wins are priced around 4 or 5, meaning so far this service looks very sensible instead of spectacular. I haven’t got a problem with that – in fact, I prefer it – but it doesn’t tie in with what I read on the way in.

How long does Racefan take to set up?

Getting started is very simple and sensible as well. If you’re already a BetFan member it will take you just a couple of minutes but if you’re new to the site you’ll have to register first. After that, it’s just a case of paying your money and waiting for the first tip to arrive.

You should be able to find the advised odds on whatever bookies you already use. But, it would be sensible to make sure you have another couple of accounts live and active just in case. It will probably be worth installing the Oddschecker app on your phone as well for the odd occasions you need to go looking for a price.

How long does it take to use Racefan?

If you’ve got everything set up on your phone, it will make it quicker and more convenient to get this done. Placing one bet a day isn’t going to take you long but I’ve always found getting it done straight away the best plan.

You could even do this on Betfair or the other exchanges if you wanted. But, by doing things that way, you might have trouble getting the advised price and any BOG benefits you’d get from your usual bookmaker.

How much can you make with Racefan?

Racefan Review Results

If you had been following this service since the start, you would now be 1100pts in profit. So, at £10/pt, in 30 months you’d be £11,000 better off. This is a very good level of profit, and an overall strike rate of 41% makes it look, finally, that whoever wrote the copy on the website wasn’t getting too carried away.

When you look closer though, you’ll see that about 1000pts of that profit was made in the first year. And, since July 2018 you would have made, at that same £10/pt you would have made just over £1000. Then you have to take into account nearly half of that will have gone on fees.

How much does Racefan cost?

On the face of it though, paying £10 for a week, £30 for 28 days, £84.50 for three months and £143 for six months doesn’t seem much. In fact, when you look at it in relation to the older figures it’s an absolute bargain.

The 40% strike rate means losing runs don’t usually last long. However, the exceptions to this rule were Nov 2018 and April 2019 which saw losses that would have eaten half of your 100pt bank.

Racefan Review Advantages

Despite this, previous results show that this tipster knows their stuff. When you add this the ease of use and simple bets that you don’t have to get on immediately, you have a very good service or formula as the website calls it.

Racefan Review Disadvantages

That’s the only problem. What we have here is a perfectly good service which you could happily use for years to come, not the holy grail. The kind of language used on the website is the same as was used on biz-op or get rich quick sites a few years ago.

This creates either false expectations or puts you off altogether. Instead, all they had to do was tell it like it is.

Racefan Review Conclusion and Overall Rating

In the end, you just have to look at the results, which are OK and ignore the hype on the website which is awful. I would recommend you add this to your portfolio of tipsters and you’ll be perfectly happy with the profits. Just don’t expect to be buying too many Ferraris.
