In this The Champagne Kid Review, I’ll be taking a look at this established service that has built up quite a following. I’ll be finding out how it all works and see if this really can deliver sparkling results, or if it’s all gone a bit flat?
What is The Champagne Kid?
Ian, the brains behind this service prides himself on preparation He uses several resources and his experience to come up with his tips. This is nothing new, but the fact that he places his bets almost exclusively on the betting exchanges is.
This is a bold move, as I’ve seen a lot of tipsters figures stand on winners that were only available at 20/1 for about five minutes. Or, they got lucky with a few BOG (best odds guaranteed) results that have made their profits look good.
Instead, Ian sees the mark of a truly good tipster is one that can still get results at Betfair SP.
How does The Champagne Kid Work?
For a start, you’re going to get a lot of tips coming through. Expect between 5 and 8 most days. These are mostly win singles with a few each way bets in between. These will be for anything between 1 and 5 points.
This means if you have a 100pt starting bank, you’ll be putting about a quarter of that at risk each day. This will concern a lot of people and with good reason.
The silver lining here is that although there are a lot of tips, the tipster’s leaning toward the exchanges and BSP (Betfair Starting Price) means there’s not a real hurry to get them on.
How long does The Champagne Kid take to set up?
If you’re already a BetFan member you can get started with this in a couple of minutes but if you’re new to the site you’ll have to register first. After that, it’s just a case of paying your money and waiting for the first selections to arrive.
You shouldn’t need more than a Betfair account for this, but you will need to make sure it is well funded as you’ll be staking a lot each day.
How long does it take to use The Champagne Kid?
Going to Betfair and placing 8 bets at SP won’t take you long. You could, if you had the time put money in the market at higher prices and see if it gets taken. You could always go back 10 minutes before the race and then take SP if you wanted.
For me though, the appeal of tipsters is that they are doing the work for you so I like to get my bets placed as quickly as possible. If you wanted to put that extra effort in, you can get much higher profits elsewhere.
How much can you make with The Champagne Kid?
If I was reviewing this a year ago, I would be saying this was one of the best tipping services I’d seen. Like a lot of tipsters, this service has not done so well in 2019 but unlike those other tipsters, this service has had an absolute disaster.
In 2019 so far (it’s now Dec 9th) this service has lost around 600pts, 332pts in July alone. When you consider that up to the beginning of this year, this service was posting an average profit of over 100 points each month, you’ll see what a massive turnaround this is.
How much does The Champagne Kid cost?
Given those recent results, the price is almost irrelevant. But, based on the older results, the £18 a week, £54 a month and £152 a quarter would have been an absolute bargain. Even though it is one of the higher prices I’ve seen, compared to the £1000 a month (at £10/pt) you would have been bringing it was nothing.
As things stand though, those prices would have seen you nearly £7000 worse off over the course of this year. You would also have bust out of your starting bank nearly 3 times over in July as the strike rate plummeted to 18%.
The Champagne Kid Review Advantages
In the face of those results, it’s hard to find a positive but the actual process of doing this is actually quite easy. There’s no chance of getting any services like BOG removed or getting banned altogether, as this is all done on exchanges. If you went for Betfair SP there’s no pressure to get these on straight away.
If only the results had not taken such a dramatic nosedive this would be a real winner.
The Champagne Kid Review Disadvantages
The results have been terrible this year though and that overshadows everything else. Losing the best part of £7000 in 2019 means there is only one conclusion I can come to.
The Champagne Kid Review Conclusion and Overall Rating
Going into this review, I had quite a lot of confidence that Ian knew what he was doing, and results up until 2019 proved that. But, this year has wiped all of that away and I have to recommend you give this a wide berth.
That said, keep an eye on the results. You don’t become a bad tipster overnight and I am expecting a recovery to start soon. When this does come back, it will come back strongly. When it does, you’ll want to be part of that.
