In this Speedster review, I’ll be taking a look at one of the newer tipping services on the Betfan platform. This service had a very poor start to 2019 and I’ll be taking a look to see if fortunes have improved since then.

What is Speedster?
A lot of tipsters pride themselves on their knowledge of the ‘Sport of Kings’. Just as many are will spend hours telling you about how they number-crunch their way to a profit. The better ones I’ve seen over the years use aa bit of both to come up with their selections. At first glance, ‘Speedster’ is one of those.

You’ll see a deep analysis of conditions and tracks, which is where this service finds it’s value. Speedster works on the basis that bookies prices are based on what has happened before, not necessarily what is going to happen on the day of the race. This might raise some eyebrows but this service got off to a very solid start with 300+pts profit in the first month.
Like many services though, it had a very poor start to 2019. So, I’m taking a look now to see if this service has redeemed itself and is worth your time and money.
How does Speedster Work?
You’ll be getting a variety of win and each way bets, with the EWs consisting of regular selections of patents doubles and trixies. As you would expect, these aren’t favourites. So, the odds will be high enough for you to want to get these on quickly.
You’ll get between 1 and 3 bets each day, with none of them staking over 4 pts in total. The tipster tries not to pick the same tips you’ll see elsewhere unless he’s absolutely sure about it. This doesn’t mean the meetings he selects are obscure though, all of the selections made during the review period were easy to place at the bookies.
How long does Speedster take to set up?
Getting started is easy too. If you’re already familiar with the BetFan website you’ll know you have to register before you can do anything, but once you’re in you can follow any of their services easily. After you’ve parted with your cash, there’s just one more thing to do while you’re waiting for your first tips to arrive.
As I mentioned above, even though there are patents and trixies involved with this service, you should be able to place these with the majority of bookmakers. You should, however, spend a bit of time making sure you have more than one account active and funded.
How long does it take to use Speedster?
I know it doesn’t take long to put on a bet, even if it’s a trixie (that’s three doubles and treble). But, there’s no point in making life more difficult for yourself. Regardless of which tipster you follow, it’s quicker to have everything set up on your phone.
Having your email, bookies apps and oddschecker installed on your phone means you can get this done in 5-10 minutes a day. That’s even if the bets are complex and if you have to go searching for odds. The question is though, is it time well spent?
How much can you make with Speedster?

If I was reviewing this at the end of 2018, I’d be telling you it was the best service ever. If I was reviewing this at the end of April 2019, after a 147 point losing month put this service 250pts down on the year, I’d be telling you the opposite.
This is why I normally let service run for a year or so before I take a proper look. True to it’s up and down nature, the second half of 2019 was better and you would have ended up with a small profit on the year, even after subscription fees.
How much does Speedster cost?
Not that those fees are that expensive. The £12.50 for a week, £37.50 for 28 days, £105 for three months or £178 for six months won’t make a massive dent in your profits, even with an up and down year as this service has had.
A word about starting banks though. In 2019 this service was basically 300pts down before ending the year in profit. Not many followers would have stuck with the service past April but if you had, you’d be looking at 500pt bank. At £10 a point this would be £5000, which would not work for a lot of people.

Speedster Review Advantages
That said, the win rate is respectable enough and that’s not the only good thing about this service. Going against the grain with some of the selections and the variations in bet types keeps this interesting, which will appeal to you if you’ve followed tipsters who just turn out the same as everyone else.
Speedster Review Disadvantages
The problem is though, that this approach does lead to a variey of different results. Although this service has made 680pts profit in the last 18months, it did lose 300pts in the first 5 months of 2019.
So, what we are looking at here is a rollercoaster ride that will have a lot of users jumping ship.
Speedster Review Conclusion and Overall Rating
If you don’t mind this rollercoaster and know that after a few bad months a few good ones will follow, then you will make money with this.
However, given that you won’t have four or five grand to use as a starting bank, and would probably leave when you’d lost a third of it in a month, I’d have to say this isn’t for you. Sometimes, being different just isn’t enough.
